
Fields of Growth spearheaded the creation of the Uganda Lacrosse Union (ULU), and assists in it’s development, however the ULU is a fully autonomous organization. The ULU serves as the governing body of lacrosse in Uganda and oversees the development of men’s and women’s lacrosse in Uganda. Uganda is a recognized associate member of the Federation of International Lacrosse.
The Uganda Cranes pride themselves on playing the game with an unrivaled passion and spirit, they play the game year round. The winter and spring consists of the official Uganda Lacrosse League. The summer months are focused on training and player development (this is when most volunteers come through) and is capped with the annual King’s Cup Tournament in early August. In the fall the players meet on their own for training sessions. The ULU hopes to launch a fall 7v7 league in the near future.
Uganda is currently in the midst of the Dream 2014 Campaign which aims to see the make history as the first ever African nation to compete in the FIL World Championships. You can learn more about supporting this campaign and the ULU at www.ugandalacrosse.com
