The HOPEFUL school has been built by high school and college lacrosse players.

Our Work

Our desired mission impact is achieved by staying true to our three core commitments. Global Leadership Development. Service to Others. Growing the Game. The work we do on the ground in Uganda and Jamaica reflects these three core commitments.

UGANDA

“For God and My Country”

Uganda is small landlocked country in East Africa and serves as the birthplace of our organization. Our GLE Uganda program is headquartered in Uganda’s capital city of Kampala. This is where our offices and guesthouse are located and is home to the Uganda Lacrosse Union. Our primary development efforts are located four hours from Kampala in the Masaka District where our village office houses the HOPEFUL Uganda initiative. This project includes our primary school for 25o children and several other community based projects.

JAMAICA

“Out of Many, One People”

The small island nation of Jamaica is a beautiful country that like Uganda is blessed with beautiful resources, warm people and an incredible culture. Jamaica, also like Uganda faces it’s challenges with poverty and post-colonial development. Our GLE Jamaica program is headquartered in Kingston, the nations capital, which is also the home of the Jamaica Lacrosse Association. In addition to growing the game of lacrosse, we also partner with the Jamaica Volunteers Foundation and the St. Patrick’s Foundation to support their social service and educational programs in the Kingston city trash dump community of Riverton. In the coming year we will also begin working with the Jamaica Surfing Association’s youth development program, located just east of Kingston in Eleven Mile Bull Bay.
