The Fields of Growth (FoG) internship program seeks to provide college students with an experiential learning opportunity within our organization. Our internships typically require that you are approved by your college or university to earn academic credit for your work with Fields of Growth. Occasionally we do accept ambitious and driven high school students into internship positions. You do not need a lacrosse background for to intern with Fields of Growth.
Interns typically work from their respective college campus or home town. Our organization is highly decentralized with much of our work coming out of our Ugandan offices. As a result we empower and entrust interns to assist us from remote locations. All you need is your own computer, phone and access to the internet. Our communication, training and evaluations would all take place via Skype.
The ideal Fields of Growth intern has the following characteristics:
Words used to describe an ideal FoG intern would be: passionate, driven, creative, bold, enthusiastic, thoughtful, polite, hard working, committed.
Right now we are hiring in the following positions:
Relationship Management Interns: These interns will be assigned to different regions of the country and asked to communicate with members in the lacrosse community in their respective community. Interns will be expected to assist us in raising awareness for the work Fields of Growth is doing to harness the passion of the lacrosse community into positive social impact. (Multiple positions available.)
Social Media Intern: This intern will be made an administrator of all of our social media outlets and will be training in using Hootesuite Social Media Software. This person will come up with a weekly strategy to create interest and excitement for Fields of Growth on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram and Flickr. (One position available.)
FoG Ambassador Intern: This intern will work closely on assisting FoG staff in the rollout of our FoG Ambassador Program. This is an initiative that will seek to empower high school and college students around the country to support our mission. FoG Ambassadors will be equipped and empowered to run “HOPEFUL events,” sell t-shirts, CDs, hats, necklaces, bumperstickers and more in support of Fields of Growth. Interns in this position will be involved in communications and marketing efforts aimed at college and high school students.(Multiple positions available.)
